Hey!
My name is Kayla Bartkowski, and I’m a photojournalist currently in Rochester, NY. I recently graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a major in Photojournalism and a minor in International Relations. This past summer, I was their summer photojournalism news intern at The Boston Globe.
I’ve been using a camera for as long as I can remember. My first was given to me by my grandfather, who never left home without one. He taught me the nuanced art of photography, which blossomed into an ever-growing love and appreciation of the form. Once I began upgrading my equipment, I started to get into videography and drone flying. When searching for stories, I’m drawn to unique environmental stories that highlight the human experience.
In my free time, I love anything to do with being outside. For the past couple of years, I’ve been really into climbing, specifically bouldering.
Thank you for stopping by!
